Description

I wanted to paint that monster from the Jeepers Creepers movie
because he looked cool. Comments and Critiques always welcom, need to build my skills up ^_^

time: approx. 4 .5 hours
program: photoshop 7
device: optical mouse
food/drink: grape koolaid & graham crackers

Mixture of hard and blurred lines. Doesnt go well. I like the colors, but the overall painting looks incomplete.

Good work…but if you define a little more the limits it would be look a lot better… also working more in the detail maybe help. :)

thanks for the comments, i have always had trouble in detailing and shadows and lightin and folds and i guess digital painitng all together ;x

detailing simply demands smaller brushstrokes and concentration on smaller areas at a time in a painting. so you can just use the same technique you use now, but zoom in a lot on the places you want to create details. use references, real life, photos, whenever you want to get better at painting something specific. in order to make everything come from your head and look good on the 'canvas', you have to be able to visualize how the different thing looks, and you can't do that if you've never looked on the specific things carefully and have observed what it is that makes this specific thing different from everything else.
as for the painting i like the atmosphere you were trying to create, but you need to practice on better shading, defining everything better and choosing a consistent composition/lighting for better effect, in my opinion.
